What can we help you with?

General

What is next? How do I start?

For the first step, we need to know more about your product. We encourage you to sign an NDA agreement with us to ensure you of the confidentiality of your shared info. This is for your peace of mind. Then, head to our contact page and fill out the " Idea/Invention Description " form. Additionally, you can "Evaluate your idea" for FREE which is very useful for you and us. If you have any question or you want to start the process, please contact us.

What is the process?

First of all, we need to understand your idea, what you have done and what you want to do and your requirements, this will include the function of the product, number of parts and if there are any electronics or apps associated with the final product, etc. Once we have reviewed the idea, we will send you a proposal (quote) to develop your idea. The proposal will include a breakdown of the project into smaller phases so our process would be more understandable, achievable and affordable. That includes our estimated cost and time for the first phase. If you are happy with the proposal we will send you an invoice for the work to be performed, once paid we will commence with the development.

How much does the process costs?

This is a difficult question to answer if we do not know what your product idea is. Each project is reviewed independently and we determine the costs based on the time it will take to complete that job and its complexity. There is not a one fixed fee meaning the smaller ideas are not penalized for higher development costs. So we need to have more information about your idea/product in order to evaluate your project and provide you with further steps involved and their costs. But until you happy to start the next step you have not locked into any commitment with us and all of our consultation and time before that is free of charge.

How do you charge?

The usual way is that we charge you an hourly fee. As soon as we break down the project, we will send you a proposal for our next phase with an estimation of time needed to fulfil tha task and our hourly fee for that phase. Another way that we can get involve is if we evaluate your idea/invention and find enough potential in you and your idea, we might get envolve with your project directly with some sort of agreement. Each project is different so we will discuss it with you based on your situation. If you prefer to this type of envolvement, then you should evaluate your project.

How long does the process take?

This completely depends on you each individual project and the time required to design and develop your idea. We will let you know as soon as we have more information about your project.

Does Dream Launch invest or buy invention ideas?

No. But if we see the potential in you and your idea, we might introduce you to a good investor or form a joint venture with you.

Licensing/Patenting

How can I protect my idea/invention?

You can file for patents, trademarks, and copyrights. If you have something propriety about your company, you should consider filing for a patent to temporarily protect your business in its infancy to get it up and running.

Should I ask investors to sign NDAs before I share my idea with them?

No. Investors will have no interest in signing a non-disclosure agreement, and neither will most individuals. The reason being, if you ask someone to sign a contract agreeing not to speak about your idea, they will need to be consciously aware of that agreement for the length of the contract. That is often far more work than it is worth to hear your idea in most peoples’ minds. Click here to read our article, Why Investors Don’t Sign NDA’s. In reality, people aren’t out to steal ideas. They are busy and have their own lives as well, and likely would not be willing or interested to drop everything and try to steal your idea. And even if they were interested in doing so, you should have a few steps on them by that time.

Does Dream Launch provide patenting services?

No, but we have a law firm business partner who will give a very good service to our clients with discounted price. If you like to get more information, check our "Partners" on our website.

Business Services

Will you help me with marketing or branding?

No. We are not getting involved with your marketing or branding but we are working with our business partners who are experts in these fields and usually trust in projects which we were involved with their product developments with some special discounts.

I don't have enough money but I have a very profitable idea. What can I do?

Just having an idea is worthless as unfortunately, no one pays you for having just an idea. It doesn't matter how good or profitable it looks like but unless you make some progress, have some document and proof that it is actually working and there is some interest from your market, no one bothering themselves to spend any time or money on your product. It is harsh but it is a reality. How we can help you is to make you ready to make a prototype so you have something to show to your possible investors or market. Unfortunately, our service is not free of charge so you need to fund it yourself or gathered some fund from your family, friends etc. Let's take the first step and let us know about your idea so we could give you some idea of the cost involved so you can make yourself ready.

Start-Up

How do I incorporate?

To form a legal entity, you would typically want to work with an experienced lawyer and then file with whatever state you plan to operate from. We have a law firm business partner who will give a very good service to our clients with discounted price. If you like to get more information, check our " Partners" page on our website.

Should I ask investors or others to sign NDAs before I share my idea with them?

No. Investors will have no interest in signing a non-disclosure agreement, and neither will most individuals. How do I know if my idea is good?

Talk to your customers. Are you making sales? Are those customers happy with the value you are providing? This ties back to Traction and Validation. If you have a validated concept and are building traction, odds are that your idea has some legs.

How do I find a co-founder?

It’s hard. Many founders are people who have been friends for some time or went to school together. You can also look at common interest groups and meetups for a founder, or ask your friends for introductions. However, if you talk to people, put yourself and your idea out there and show passion, you will find someone.
